Our breakfast includes some of our traditional family recipes such as crepe style pancakes served with homemade blackberry, strawberry or babaco jam, natural fruit juices, freshly baked breads handmade at the hacienda, eggs prepared to your liking and coffee, tea or milk. Lunch and Dinner
At lunchtime we offer traditional soups prepared with fresh ingredients that grow in the Ecuadorian highlands such as potato (used to make Locro), quinoa, barley rice. Whilst in the evening we prepare warm, comforting cream soups which are served with garlic bread, pop corn, potato chips etc. The main course varies between beef, chicken and pork at lunchtime, and trout, beef and chicken at dinnertime. We offer a variety of freshly made delicious desserts, such as Pear Tartin, Red Fruit Crumble, Babaco Pie and Pristiños, served with tea, coffee or herbal tea. Organic Garden
Our Organic Garden provides various lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, red cabbage, green beans, chilli peppers, basil, rosemary, and other aromatic herbs such as oregano, mint, spearmint, chamomile, lemon verbena. Traditional Ecuadorian DishesLocro - a delicious, traditional potato soup served with avocado and cheese. This soup can be served as a starter or as a main course due to its substantial nature. Quinoa - an extremely nutritious grain which grows in the Ecuadorian Highlands, quinoa can be used dry or cooked in salads, soups or tortillas. In Hacienda Manteles we often prepare the quinoa soup. Pristiños - a typical Ecuadorian dessert made from pastry, deep fried and served with a locally prepared syrup. |
